Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Polish: A Review

Okay, I know this is like our billionth nail post, but I promise, this'll be our last for a while! I recently discovered my Rite Aid had stocked up on the Wet n Wild "salon" quality nail polishes, and seeing as they were $1.99 each, what could I possibly lose?

(L-R) Heatwave, Bite the Bullet, Haze of Love, Private Viewing
Oh and the one to the very left is just their $0.99 glitter polish, because...who doesn't love glitter?

I am here to say that I absolutely love them! For such a cheap product, it really does its job well. The brush is actually a bit weird, because they're supposed to be "pro" brushes (kinda like the Rimmel ones), but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to apply with.

The formula is actually pretty thick, but once it's on the nail, the consistency kind of reminds me of Essie's. Plus, the bottle looks like the Sally Hansen salon collection, am I right? On top of all that, it barely chips because I've been wearing Heatwave for about 5 days, and so far, nothing! That is a great feat seeing as I am an extremely clumsy person.

Anyway I've been experimenting with the colors and glitter, and this was the result:
Tell me the glitter on top does not look good!

My Maybelline Favorites

S and I are both suckers when it comes to Maybelline products, and I'm pretty sure one day we'll end up having bought everything by them. These are some of their makeup that I absolutely love.

(From left to right)
 1. Line Express Eyeliner: This is a great liner, and I love that it came with a smudger! It blends very easily and applies very smoothly so it's very good on the go. ( $6.99 at CVS)

2. Volum'Express Falsies Mascara: I had to add this in, although I am kind of on the fence about it. It is very useful to me that it has a curved wand for better application as my lashes are very short and straight. I am on my second tube however (which must mean I like it, right?), but I made the mistake of buying waterproof and it is so hard to take off! Eh, next time I'll probably try a different mascara. ($7.50 at CVS)

3. Expertwear Single Eyeshadows: I LOVE these eyeshadows omg! They are very pigmented and long lasting. The colors are great too. The ones shown above are Golden Halo and Copper Glaze, and they're so pretty! ($3.75 at Rite Aid)

4. Baby Lips in Grape Vine: It's an awesome tinted lip balm, providing moisture and adding the perfect hint of color! There is a slight smell, obviously of grapes, and at first I was scared to buy it because the color of the balm stick was purple. It comes off as a very nice plum on the lips though, so I was happy. ($3.99 at Ulta)

5. Dream Fresh BB Cream: I had to go pick one of these up after all the BB cream hype. I really do like it, because it gives me a sheer coverage that's not too cakey or anything. But after wearing it for a day, I realized that it broke me out. Everywhere. I got the shade Medium/Deep, but it's really too dark on me because like an idiot I bought it when I had a summer tan going on, especially during a heat wave. So I'm going to have to switch to a lighter shade once the warm weather is over. It's really a tinted moisturizer and not much else, no matter how much it boasts and is really nothing like the Asian BB creams (which I gotta try out), or so I hear. ($8.99 at Rite Aid)

So what do you think of these products?

Mermaid Nails

Hello Lovelies! So I got very bored today and thought I'd experiment with some colours and designs on my nails. I'm kind of proud of my results! I call them mermaid nails! Haha

These are the steps to achieve the awesomeness of mermaid nails:

1) First pick 3 colours in shades of blue or green. You can use gold or silver as well. (I picked gold, mint green and basic blue)

2) After that layer all the colours from lightest to darkest. Make sure there is a strand of each colour showing.

3) Then apply a coat of clear polish to even out the surface.

4) After the nails dry, take a black (small tipped) permanent marker and draw designs onto your nails.

5) Wait for half an hour and then apply the finishing top coat so the designs won't smudge.

Et VoilĂ ! Follow these steps and you'll have the perfect mermaid nails! :)

Picking Up 101

So my friend and I were telling each other pick-up lines out of utter boredom, so I thought I'd share them with you guys! So, these are just some of the weird (and very lame) pick-up lines we talked about:

-Did you just fart? Cause you blew me away!
-You're body is wonderland and I want to be Alice
-You have nice teeth (R would use that one)
-My lips are skittles, want to taste the rainbow?
-Are your parents retarded, 'cause you sure are special
-Are those space pants? Because your ass is out of this world!
-Are you a library book, cause I would totally check you out!
-Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?

Use one of these babies and you're almost guaranteed their number! It might be a fake one, but its a number nonetheless!
What's your favourite pick-up line!

DIY Hair Treatment

Every time I feel like my hair needs some extra nourishment or a boost, I always use coconut oil to tame it. I however got bored with using the same thing year after year, and decided to try mixing different oils together. So here it is, my hot 4-oil hair treatment.

Use about a tablespoon each of coconut, black seed, olive, and jojoba oil (all organic) and lightly mix them together in a small bowl. Heat the mixture for about 8-10 seconds, and gently massage into hair. Make sure to get all parts of the scalp and use the excess on the tips of your hair. Tie your hair in a bun and leave it to condition for 2-3 hours. Shampoo off all the oil thoroughly, because olive oil and black seed oil are especially stubborn to come off. Let your hair air dry and watch it have some amazing natural volume!

Let me know how it goes,

Marble Nails

Hi! I thought I'd try water marble nails today and I must say they may sound like they are easy to do but they aren't! These are the steps I used to do them:

1) Apply a base coat of any colour you wish onto the nail.

2) While your nails dry, find a small bowl and wrap the bowl in plastic wrap so the bowl won't get ruined.

3) Fill it with room temperature water. (This is one of the main factors to get good result! The water must be room temperature. If you have difficulty in achieving that, slightly warm water works as well)

4) Pick around 2 or 3 other nail polish colours you like and with the nail polish wand put one drop of each of the colours in the water!

5) Afterwards, take a toothpick and gently create whatever design you want with the nail polish in the water.

6) Take your nail and put it in the water where the design is and hold it under water for about 10 seconds. While your hold your finger there, with a toothpick remove the excess nail polish around the finger so that it won't ruin your design.

7) Finally you can take it out and clean the nail polish around your finger with nail polish remover.

8) Repeat it for all your nails!

That's it! It's pretty challenging and this isn't the prettiest design, but hey I tried!

London 2012

Soo the Olympics are wrapping up today, and I can't wait for the closing ceremony! Like most people, I didn't avidly follow it, but I did notice the very cute athletes! Here's my list of the best looking players who did give me a reason to watch :)

Nathan Adrian (USA)

James Magnussen (Australia)

Max Whitlock (Great Britain)

Ryan Lochte (USA)

Tom Daley (Great Britain)

Ricky Berens (USA)

As you can see, most of the guys are American because, well, I live in America and obviously we're exposed to more of the homegrown athletes than the foreigners. Whoo team USA finished first! (But seriously, I'm practically in love with Tom Daley ;) )
