Summer Favourites 2013

Covergirl Natureluxe Foundation in Suede, NYC Sun 2 Sun Bronzer, Covergirl Golden Sunset Trio, Maybelline Golden Halo, Elf Eyelid Primer, Revlon Just Bitten in Dawn and Lancome Definicils Mascara.

Hello my lovelies! So high school just finished for me and I couldn't be more excited for the summer! The best part is that I don't go back to high school after summer, but......University! I could not be more stoked. So, since I'm going away for the summer, I thought I'd do a favourites post on my go-to summer products! So here they are:

Naturluxe Foundation: For foundation, I love Covergirl's Natureluxe foundation. I tried a couple other foundations, switching back and forth, but I always seem to come back to this one! It is buildable on coverage and feels light weight. It has an SPF of 10 which isn't too bad for the summer. I wore this foundation and played outside in the sun for hours, and it did not wear off or dry up. It's around $14.50 CAD at any drugstore.

NYC Sun 2 Sun Bronzer: This is a pretty nice and affordable bronzer/highlighter. It has 2 tones in it and one is the bronzer and the other is the highlighter. I was hesitant at first when I got this because I saw that it had little sparkles in it, but when I put it on, they weren't noticeable at all. The highlighter didn't really work for me but the bronzer was perfect. I got it for $5 CAD at Target.

Covergirl Golden Sunset Trio: I recently purchased this item because R recommended it and I am so happy she did. It has all the metallic colours I love. The middle bronze colour is my favourite! Using an eyelid primer, the eye shadow stays on pretty good. The colours are perfect for the summer and can give your eyes the perfect glow. I got it for around $4 CAD.

Maybelline Golden Halo: This is my all time favourite eye shadow! It is the perfect colour and I cannot stress how much I love this! I got it last year for around $2.50 CAD and I have been using this most days for school. The rich gold colour brightens the eyes and I think it's perfect for the summer.

Elf Eyelid Primer: This is another product R recommended and gave me! For only $1 this is the best primer I've come across! In the summer my lids get super oily, so this primer helps keep my eyelids looking its best!

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain: This is the older version of the Just Bitten stains but this is also one of my favourites overall for the whole year. It is the perfect shade for my lips. It can make your lips a bit dry, so I suggest you put some Chapstick with it (I put on my Baby Lips in Grapevine)...but it is one of my necessities in the morning. It just enhances your own lip colour and it looks very natural. It will make your lips look a bit rosier than it is, which I love! I got this for around $6.80 CAD.

Lancome Definicils Mascara: Last, but not least, my holy grail product, Lancome's Definicils Mascara! This is the only product which isn't found in a drugstore and it is quite pricey at around $25 CAD. However, this mascara can do wonders to your lashes. You won't ever need fake lashes with a couple swipes of this. It stays on the whole day and does't smudge. It's perfect for the summer! Well.....all year round for me!

Soooo these are my summer faves! Hope you like them! Let me know in the comments :D

Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Polish: A Review

Okay, I know this is like our billionth nail post, but I promise, this'll be our last for a while! I recently discovered my Rite Aid had stocked up on the Wet n Wild "salon" quality nail polishes, and seeing as they were $1.99 each, what could I possibly lose?

(L-R) Heatwave, Bite the Bullet, Haze of Love, Private Viewing
Oh and the one to the very left is just their $0.99 glitter polish, because...who doesn't love glitter?

I am here to say that I absolutely love them! For such a cheap product, it really does its job well. The brush is actually a bit weird, because they're supposed to be "pro" brushes (kinda like the Rimmel ones), but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to apply with.

The formula is actually pretty thick, but once it's on the nail, the consistency kind of reminds me of Essie's. Plus, the bottle looks like the Sally Hansen salon collection, am I right? On top of all that, it barely chips because I've been wearing Heatwave for about 5 days, and so far, nothing! That is a great feat seeing as I am an extremely clumsy person.

Anyway I've been experimenting with the colors and glitter, and this was the result:
Tell me the glitter on top does not look good!

My Maybelline Favorites

S and I are both suckers when it comes to Maybelline products, and I'm pretty sure one day we'll end up having bought everything by them. These are some of their makeup that I absolutely love.

(From left to right)
 1. Line Express Eyeliner: This is a great liner, and I love that it came with a smudger! It blends very easily and applies very smoothly so it's very good on the go. ( $6.99 at CVS)

2. Volum'Express Falsies Mascara: I had to add this in, although I am kind of on the fence about it. It is very useful to me that it has a curved wand for better application as my lashes are very short and straight. I am on my second tube however (which must mean I like it, right?), but I made the mistake of buying waterproof and it is so hard to take off! Eh, next time I'll probably try a different mascara. ($7.50 at CVS)

3. Expertwear Single Eyeshadows: I LOVE these eyeshadows omg! They are very pigmented and long lasting. The colors are great too. The ones shown above are Golden Halo and Copper Glaze, and they're so pretty! ($3.75 at Rite Aid)

4. Baby Lips in Grape Vine: It's an awesome tinted lip balm, providing moisture and adding the perfect hint of color! There is a slight smell, obviously of grapes, and at first I was scared to buy it because the color of the balm stick was purple. It comes off as a very nice plum on the lips though, so I was happy. ($3.99 at Ulta)

5. Dream Fresh BB Cream: I had to go pick one of these up after all the BB cream hype. I really do like it, because it gives me a sheer coverage that's not too cakey or anything. But after wearing it for a day, I realized that it broke me out. Everywhere. I got the shade Medium/Deep, but it's really too dark on me because like an idiot I bought it when I had a summer tan going on, especially during a heat wave. So I'm going to have to switch to a lighter shade once the warm weather is over. It's really a tinted moisturizer and not much else, no matter how much it boasts and is really nothing like the Asian BB creams (which I gotta try out), or so I hear. ($8.99 at Rite Aid)

So what do you think of these products?

Mermaid Nails

Hello Lovelies! So I got very bored today and thought I'd experiment with some colours and designs on my nails. I'm kind of proud of my results! I call them mermaid nails! Haha

These are the steps to achieve the awesomeness of mermaid nails:

1) First pick 3 colours in shades of blue or green. You can use gold or silver as well. (I picked gold, mint green and basic blue)

2) After that layer all the colours from lightest to darkest. Make sure there is a strand of each colour showing.

3) Then apply a coat of clear polish to even out the surface.

4) After the nails dry, take a black (small tipped) permanent marker and draw designs onto your nails.

5) Wait for half an hour and then apply the finishing top coat so the designs won't smudge.

Et VoilĂ ! Follow these steps and you'll have the perfect mermaid nails! :)

Picking Up 101

So my friend and I were telling each other pick-up lines out of utter boredom, so I thought I'd share them with you guys! So, these are just some of the weird (and very lame) pick-up lines we talked about:

-Did you just fart? Cause you blew me away!
-You're body is wonderland and I want to be Alice
-You have nice teeth (R would use that one)
-My lips are skittles, want to taste the rainbow?
-Are your parents retarded, 'cause you sure are special
-Are those space pants? Because your ass is out of this world!
-Are you a library book, cause I would totally check you out!
-Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?

Use one of these babies and you're almost guaranteed their number! It might be a fake one, but its a number nonetheless!
What's your favourite pick-up line!
